It was my class reunion, and all through the house,
I checked in each mirror and begged my poor spouse
To say I looked great, that my chin wasn't double,
And he lied through false teeth, just to stay out of trouble.

Said that 'neath my thick glasses, my eyes hadn't changed,
And I had the same figure, it was just a mite rearranged.
He said my skin was still silky, although looser in drape,
Not so much like smooth satin, but more like silk crepe.

I swallowed his words hook, sinker and line
And entered the banquet feeling just fine.
Somehow I'd expected my classmates to stay
As young as they were on that long-ago day

We'd hugged farewell hugs. But like me, through the years,
They'd added gray to their hair, or pounds to their rears.
But as we shared a few memories and retold some class jokes,
We were eighteen in spirit, though we looked like our folks.

We turned up hearing aid volumes and dimmed down the light,
Rolled back the years, and were young for the night.

11 June 2011
A class breakfast was held at Williams Restaurant in Palmer Township. Twenty six classmates, spouses, and friends attended (see names below). We had a private room and ordered off the menu. Everyone seemed really pleased with the location and service.   It was suggested  to have the next breakfast in late October to coincide with homecoming  at WHS...perhaps attending the game after breakfast.

Although there was no class meeting at the breakfast, Gary Trigiani spoke briefly about the campaign initiated last October to raise $10,000 for our class gift to WHS. As a reminder, our plan is to give monetary scholarship gifts of $5,000 each to two students in memory of Ronnie Kulczycki and Louis Cardell at the 2015 graduation. Several classmates actually started the campaign at the reunion in September by donating $100 each. To date we have raised $3,900 toward our goal.

If you have not made a contribution yet or cannot give $100 in a lump sum, you could pledge to send $25 each year for the next four years. All contributions will be tax deductible. Of course, if you are able to make a donation in a larger amount, that would be greatly appreciated. Checks should be made payable to WHS Class of 1965 and sent to Debbie Schippers Patterson, 115 Morvale Road, Easton, PA 18042.

Plans for our 50th Reunion

There has been overwhelming support for a gift to WHS as part of the 50th anniversary of our graduation. In lieu of a car wash, yard sale or other labor intensive activity, a "write-a-check" campaign has been suggested.

A goal of $10,000 has been set. $1500 was pledged at the reunion. Anyone wishing to contribute to this effort can send payment to:

Deborah Patterson            check payable to: WHS Class of 1965
